Community and Listing Guidelines

Poppin only works if people can trust what they find on it. These rules keep it that way. Last updated October 11, 2026.

What belongs on Poppin

Real events, open to the public or to anyone who buys a ticket, happening at a real place (or a clearly stated online one) at a stated time: concerts, markets, classes, games, festivals, food trucks, yard sales, meetups and the like.

A good listing

  • The date, time, place, price and age limits are right, and stay right. Edit the listing when they change, and cancel it here when you cancel the event.
  • The title says what the event is. No all-caps, emoji strings or keyword stuffing.
  • The category and city are the true ones, not the busiest ones.
  • Links go to the event’s own ticket or information page.
  • Images show the event, the venue, the performers or the host, and you have the right to use them.
  • One listing per event. A repeating event is posted as a series, not as copies.

Not allowed

  • Fake, misleading or bait listings, or listings for events that are not happening.
  • Ads, promotions or sales that are not an event.
  • Anything illegal, or that promotes illegal activity, including the sale of weapons, drugs or counterfeit goods.
  • Sexually explicit content, or adult-only events not clearly marked with their age limit.
  • Hate, harassment or threats against any person or group, or content that promotes violence.
  • Other people’s personal information, or images of people used without their permission in a way that harms them.
  • Content that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark (see the Copyright Policy).
  • Manipulating views, saves or clicks, or the view guarantee.
  • Pretending to be another person, host or organization.

How listings are reviewed

A person reads every new host’s listings before they go live, until the host has 3 approved listings. After that, listings publish at once and are still checked when reported. Imported listings always credit and link to their source; the organizer can claim them.

Reporting a problem

Every listing has a “Report this listing” link. A person reviews every report. For anything urgent or unsafe, also email hello@findwhatspoppin.com.

What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on how serious it is, we correct an obvious error, send a listing back for changes, unpublish or take it down, or suspend or close a host’s access or account. Where it is safe and practical we say why. A listing we take down stays down. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@findwhatspoppin.com and a person looks again.
